Gabriel DropOut (ガヴリールドロップアウト, Gavurīru Doroppuauto), is the anime adaptation to a manga of the same name. It is directed by Masahiko Ohta while Takashi Aoshima does the series composition, Katsuhiro Kumagai designs the characters. The first season is produced by Doga Kobo studios, and began airing January 09, 2017 all the while being simulcast by Crunchyroll. The pilot episode had an advance screening December 18, 2016 at the Shinjuku Piccadilly theatre in Tokyo.

The first opening theme is titled "Gabriel DropKick"(ガヴリールドロップキック, Gavurīru Doroppukikku [1]) and the first ending theme is "Hallelujah☆Essaim" (ハレルヤ☆エッサイム Hareruya Essaimu [2], both of which where performed by Kana Hanazawa, Miyu Tomita, Naomi Ōzora, & Saori Ōnishi. The second ending theme, used exclusively for episode 07 is titled "Gabriel no Kazoeuta" (ガヴリールの数え歌 The Gabriel Counting Song) and was performed by only Saori Ōnishi.

The first season of this series contains 12 episodes and an original video animation (OVA), all of which will be released to both BD/DVD in three four-episode volumes on March 24, 2017.

Plot[]

Upon passing a school in heaven, graduating angels are sent down to Earth, where they must learn about humans and guide them towards the correct path in order to become true angels. However, Gabriel White Tenma, the top angel in her class, becomes addicted to video games upon arriving on Earth and turns into a complete slob as a result. The story follows Gabriel, along with other angels and demons who have descended to Earth, as they attend high school.
